Until 1985, Mr. Merrill worked as a Deputy District Attorney in Alameda County, taking virtually every type of criminal matter – from shoplifting to murder – to verdict. Mr. Merrill entered the civil arena in 1985 and within two years had tried and taken to verdict a wide variety of civil cases, including tort liability, condemnation, contract, business disputes, construction defect and real estate matters.
He has obtained numerous seven- and eight-figure verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients. His favorable jury verdicts include a record condemnation verdict in Napa County. His practice focuses on business litigation, real estate litigation, eminent domain and construction defect litigation.
Mr. Nomura has been advising and counseling clients in business and financial transactions, real estate matters, and mergers and acquisitions for over twenty-five years. Mr. Nomura has taught corporate law at California State University, East Bay and serves on several community boards and bank advisory committees. His clients include entrepreneurs, banks, commercial landlords, developers, builders, architectural, engineering and design firms, real estate brokers, multiple listing service providers, homeowner associations, franchisee associations, management companies, professional corporations and non-profit organizations.
Over the past twenty-five years, Mr. Molineux has represented clients in real estate and business litigation matters, obtaining settlements in excess of $100 million. His practice includes the representation of residential and commercial plaintiffs and defendants in construction defect cases, as well as developers, contractors, subcontractors, landlords, tenants, property owners and business owners. Mr. Molineux is a regular guest speaker before various trade organizations on a variety of legal issues.
Lynn Appleton graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law and was admitted to practice law in the State of California in 1989. Ms. Appleton began her legal career in Oakland as a litigation associate handling premises liability, breach of contract, nuisance, boundary disputes, personal injury and construction defect cases. Today the focus of her practice is on business litigation, real estate litigation and construction defect litigation.
